After a short cheesemaking hiatus, Meadowood Farms is once again delighted to have its three award-winning soft-ripened cheeses in production! Meadowood Farms has collaborated with Old Chatham Creamery to produce Meadowood Ledyard (ACS Blue Ribbon 2016), Meadowood Rippleton, and Meadowood Strawbridge. The rich and delicious sheep-milk from Meadowood Farms is transformed into marvelous cheese at the hands of Brian Schlatter, once a cheesemaker at Meadowood and now head of bloomy-rind cheesemaking at Old Chatham. In keeping with Meadowood’s seasonal milk production, these three cheeses are seasonally produced and only available for purchase from May to December. To learn where the Meadowood cheeses will be available this season, contact Allyson@OldChathamCreamery.com.
Ledyard is a pasteurized, soft-ripened sheep's milk cheese in the style of Robiola. Wrapped in grape leaves soaked in Deep Purple, a wheat beer made with Madison County Concord grapes.
Rippleton is a pasteurized, washed-rind Sheep’s milk cheese in the style of a Taleggio. Washed with wort from our friends at Empire Brewing, Rippleton is robust, meaty and built for a pint!
Strawbridge is a pasteurized, lactic, bloomy-rind sheep's milk cheese. Similar to a triple creme, it is decadent, buttery and herbal. Enjoy with a glass of something bubbly!
